Biography
Matt Johnson is an attorney in the litigation section of Jackson Walker’s Dallas office. He was a summer associate at the Firm in 2020.
Since joining Jackson Walker, Matt has represented clients in a wide range of commercial litigation matters. His experience includes successfully briefing and arguing a motion for summary judgment on an affirmative claim for more than $1M, drafting petitions, complaints, and dispositive motions in both state and federal court, and arguing numerous motions before courts across the state.
During law school, Matt was an active member of the Baylor Law Mock Trial team, Baylor Law Review, and was a co-captain of Baylor’s 2021 American Association for Justice mock trial team. Matt was awarded the R. Jack Ayres Advanced Trial Advocacy Award and the Ty Drury Excellence in Mock Trial award from the faculty at Baylor Law School.
Matt gained significant research and writing experience as a judicial intern in the chambers of the Hon. Jeffrey Manske, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the Western District of Texas.
Prior to law school, he served as a summer financial analyst for the energy corporate banking group of one of the largest banks in the country.
