Jackson Walker is pleased to congratulate Carter Dickson on his appointment as Chair of the 2024-2025 Houston Young Lawyers Association (HYLA) In-House and Corporate Counsel Committee.

The Committee provides programming and events tailored to young attorneys, focusing on networking opportunities, resources, and support to strengthen engagement between in-house and outside counsel representing corporations.

Founded in 1937 as the Houston Junior Bar Association, HYLA consists of diverse lawyers in their first twelve years of practice as of June 1, as well as law students. Each year, members are offered a variety of social networking events, CLEs, and leadership and volunteer opportunities. HYLA has a rich tradition of community involvement and leadership in the Houston legal community.

Meet Carter

Carter Dickson is a litigator who represents energy and commercial clients in state and federal courts for both trials and appeals. Carter also has experience in complex litigation, defending clients in class action and multi-district litigation. He obtained his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and both his J.D. and LL.M. from the University of Houston Law Center, with a specialization in Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Law.
