Jackson Walker partner Chuck Campbell is scheduled to present during the National Association of Public Pension Attorneys (NAPPA) 2023 Legal Education Conference on Thursday, June 29, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas.

During the discussion, Chuck and his fellow panelists will explore a number of issues regarding the role pension benefits plays in the struggle to hire and retain first responders. Topics include impacts of the rollback of public pension benefits on new generations entering into emergency service work, how benefit policy decisions can be used as a tool to retain public safety workers and fill the gap, and how collective bargaining affects pension benefit issues.

NAPPA is a legal educational and professional association. Its membership consists exclusively of attorneys who represent public pension funds. Their purpose is to provide educational opportunities and informational resources for its member attorneys. Chuck serves on NAPPA’s Fiduciary & Plan Governance Section Steering Committee and Public Safety Affinity Group.

Meet Chuck

Chuck Campbell’s practice focuses on representing public pension plans and their trustees. He specializes in addressing the variety of complex and unique issues that these organizations face with a keen awareness of the political and regulatory environment in which these plans operate. He serves as primary outside counsel for various local pension plans and as fiduciary or tax counsel for larger statewide and local funds. Chuck also represents private sector clients in all areas of employee benefits and executive compensation, including the design, drafting, and compliance aspects of retirement plans, health and disability plans, deferred compensation plans, stock option and equity compensation plans, and executive employment agreements.
