Byron Egan and Mario Perez Dolan to Present at UT School of Law 20th Annual Mergers and Acquisitions Institute; Institute Co-Founder Larry Glasgow to Co-Chair

Jackson Walker partners Byron F. Egan and Mario Perez Dolan will be featured speakers at The University of Texas School of Law’s 20th Annual Mergers and Acquisitions Institute, recognized as the preeminent private M&A conference in the United States.

Byron will deliver a keynote presentation on the new Texas Business Courts during the firm- sponsored luncheon on Thursday, October 10, 2024. He is also a member of the Institute’s planning committee.

Mario will participate in a panel discussion titled “Hot Topics in Private Equity M&A,” sharing insights on current trends and strategies shaping the field.

In addition, Jackson Walker partner and the Institute’s co-founder, Larry E. Glasgow, will serve as Co-Chair of the event.

Meet the Speakers

Byron F. Egan regularly handles business combinations of corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships, including mergers and acquisitions, purchases and sales of stock, and other equity interests, and sales and exchanges of assets. He also handles the related entity governance and structure issues. In 2023, Byron published the fourth edition of EGAN ON ENTITIES: Corporations, Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies in Texas, a treatise on Texas, Delaware, and other entity laws. Byron is the only attorney to have received the Burton Award for Legal Achievement four times and is consistently recognized among the top corporate and M&A lawyers in Texas by several publications.

Byron has consistently been recognized by Who’s Who Legal for over 15 years, including as a “Recommended” attorney in M&A and Corporate Governance and as a “Thought Leader” for M&A. He has also been named among The Best Lawyers in America since 1993 in the areas of Corporate Compliance Law, Corporate Governance Law, Corporate Law, and Mergers and Acquisitions Law.

Mario Perez Dolan represents clients in a broad array of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, and corporate governance. Mario has extensive experience representing public and private companies, private equity funds, and family offices, which provides him the background and understanding required to provide solutions to the unique challenges presented in each transaction. Mario has been recognized among D Magazine’s “Best Lawyers in Dallas” 2022-2023 list, and The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Corporate Law.

 

Meet the Co-Chair

Larry E. Glasgow has a comprehensive corporate practice with particular emphasis in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions (on behalf of investors, issuers, and portfolio companies), venture capital, corporate governance issues, financings, joint ventures, and start-up counseling. He co-founded The University of Texas School of Law’s Mergers & Acquisitions Institute and continues as its Co-Chairman. Larry co-founded and served as a Chairman of both the ABA’s Mergers & Acquisitions Deal Trends Committee (which publishes the Deal Point Studies) and the Dallas Bar Association’s Mergers & Acquisitions Section.

Larry is regularly recognized in Best Lawyers in AmericaTexas Super LawyersWho’s Who Legal: Thought Leaders (USA); M&A and Governance, and Best Lawyers of Dallas. He is a frequent author and speaker on corporate law topics.
