Cirrus Logic Engineering Fellow Eric King Presented with Inventor of the Year Award

Jackson Walker is pleased to announce that Eric King, an inventor from our client Cirrus Logic, was honored with the 2024 Inventor of the Year Award at the Austin Intellectual Property Law Association’s (IPLA) Judges’ Dinner held on October 24, 2024. The annual dinner recognizes and honors members of the federal judiciary for their contributions and celebrates the work done by the Austin IPLA.

Eric King serves as an Engineering Fellow for Cirrus Logic in Austin, Texas. His journey with the company began in 1994 when he joined Crystal Semiconductor/Cirrus Logic. Demonstrating a drive for innovation, Eric established the Systems Architecture team at Cirrus Logic in 2017. This team focuses on creating groundbreaking solutions to customer problems and diversifying product opportunities.

Eric’s prolific career is marked by an impressive portfolio of intellectual property. He is currently named as an inventor on 126 issued U.S. patents and 131 pending U.S. applications. Jackson Walker has been instrumental in prosecuting 83 of these granted patents. Eric’s patented inventions have significantly contributed to advancements in audio amplifiers, inductive sensing, and Li-Ion battery management solutions, including fuel gauges, chargers, and brownout prevention circuits.

As a member of Cirrus Logic’s Patent Committee, Eric’s innovations have enabled the company to invest in a variety of products and features, expanding its market reach and enhancing its technological capabilities while positioning Cirrus Logic as a leader in the industry.
