On Thursday, August 22, Jackson Walker attorney Shayan Gaziani co-led a CLE presentation titled “Shining a Light: Understanding the Corporate Transparency Act,” hosted by the Dallas-Fort Worth Muslim Bar Association (DFWMBA). He was joined by Antonio Glenn (AMG Counsel PLLC).
The presentation focused on the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), a new U.S. federal law aimed at enhancing corporate transparency and combating financial crimes. Under the CTA, certain businesses are required to disclose their beneficial owners—those individuals who ultimately own or control the company—to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).
The DFWMBA is a non-denominational, non-political organization of lawyers and law students of Muslim faith, open to individuals of all religious backgrounds. The association is dedicated to protecting the constitutional rights of all Americans, with a focus on minority and American-Muslim communities. Through community service, pro bono work, and educational efforts, DFMBA strives to use legal knowledge as a tool for social empowerment.
