Luke Gilman Elected President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston

Jackson Walker partner Luke J. Gilman has been elected President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston (“HisBA”), beginning his term in August 2024.

HisBA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing Hispanics in the legal profession. The association organizes numerous activities throughout the year and raises funds to award scholarships to students attending high schools and law schools in the Houston area.

“I am honored to serve as president of the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston,” said Luke. “I look forward to working with our members in continuing the vision of HisBA and strengthening our community through service and advocacy.”

Luke specializes in litigation and arbitration, focusing on technology, energy-related, and media-related disputes and internal investigations. His expertise includes litigation related to complex commercial transactions, business governance and corporate issues, First Amendment and defamation litigation, international and domestic arbitration, technology-related disputes and investigations, as well as general commercial litigation.

He has handled cases in state and federal court in Texas and across the country as well as arbitrations under AAA, ICC, ICDR, and UNCITRAL rules in varied locations, including London, New York, and Mexico City. Additionally, Luke has represented media defendants in a number of media disputes across Texas, California, New York, Florida, and Utah. In recognition of his practice, Luke has been named one of The Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation and a Texas Super Lawyer.
