Jackson Walker partner William H. Hornberger will serve as the commencement speaker for the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Spring 2024 Graduation Ceremony, taking place on Thursday, May 9, 2024.
A native of Laredo and the grandson of Mexican immigrants, Willie’s speech will echo the values instilled in him during his upbringing, encouraging graduates to remember their roots, practice gratitude, support others, and embrace the future.
With expertise spanning various legal areas such as corporate, international, real estate, oil and gas, bankruptcy, tax law, and procedural matters, Willie has been recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America and a Texas Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters since 2003. His broad transactional practice includes mergers and acquisitions, complex partnerships, joint ventures, real estate and private equity arrangements, complicated cross-border business structuring matters involving investors from multiple countries, tax treaties, and IRS Competent Authority matters. Outside of his practice, he serves as an adjunct professor in energy tax at Texas Tech Law School and has previously taught international taxation as an adjunct professor at Southern Methodist University Law School.
