Jackson Walker partner Lauren Ciminello was recently named as one of the winners of the San Antonio Business Journal’s 2017 Outstanding Lawyers Award. The award recognizes local attorneys who are not only successful and known for excellent performance in their field, but who are making a difference in their organizations, the legal industry, and the community.
Lauren is a partner in the Firm’s Corporate & Securities practice, where she serves as the firmwide chair of the Family Office practice, a leadership position she has held for 4 years. She focuses much of her practice on advising high net-worth families and closely held businesses, guiding them through various complex business transactions including forming new ventures, mergers, acquisitions, and contract negotiations. Her practice is further complemented by experience in planning for complex corporate, family, and inter-generational matters, including family succession and estate planning and tax, management, and business succession strategies that help clients preserve wealth and achieve their business and personal goals.

In addition to her practice, Lauren makes time within the firm to mentor summer clerks and new associates and to work with female attorneys on successful maternity leave preparation and reintegration.
Outside of the time Lauren spends practicing law and serving the Jackson Walker community, she is active in the San Antonio legal and business community. She has served on the Board of Family Service Association since 2010. During her time on the board, she served in various leadership roles including most notably as head of the Board Engagement Committee. Lauren has also served on Founders Council for Texas Biomedical Research Institute since 2013 where she works to increase community awareness and help fund lifesaving biomedical research. Last year, Lauren was a guest speaker at the North San Antonio Chamber’s CFO Forum discussing topics such as family business opportunities and the CFO’s role in managing diversification of holdings. She has also served as a member of the San Antonio chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and has served twice on the judging panel for the Entrepreneurial Spirit Awards presented to outstanding women entrepreneurs in the San Antonio community.
