Jackson Walker proudly congratulates Houston partner Patrick T. Sharkey on his inclusion in the 2019 Irish Legal 100.
Founded by the New York newspaper Irish Voice in 2008, the Irish Legal 100 is an annual compilation of the most distinguished legal professionals in the United States who are bonded by their Irish roots. Each fall, the Ambassador of Ireland to the U.S. hosts a reception in Washington, D.C. to honor attorneys, legal scholars, and members of the judiciary who have distinguished themselves in their fields of endeavor.
A board-certified commercial real estate attorney, Pat represents landlords and tenants in office, industrial, retail, healthcare, and submerged land (Houston Ship Channel) leasing. His practice encompasses specialty leases, including data center leases, hospital leases, and ground leases for medical office buildings; acquisitions and dispositions of office buildings, industrial properties, healthcare properties and undeveloped land, condominiums, and development of healthcare campuses; and intricate land transactions, land donation in lieu of condemnation, and property tax appeals.
Among numerous closings on land, leases, office buildings, healthcare properties, and condominium transactions, Pat successfully represented NRG Energy, Inc., a Fortune 500 integrated power company, in the sublease of its new office space at 910 Louisiana in downtown Houston. At 431,037 square feet, the transaction is the largest commercial real estate sublease in the history of the city and was named the winner in the Project Lease category of Houston Business Journal’s 2018 Landmark Awards.
In recognition of his practice, Pat has been recognized among The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Real Estate Law in 2020 and as a “Texas Super Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters since 2003.
