Jackson Walker attorneys Stephanie Chandler and Daniel Maldonado advised Geekdom Fund in raising $8 million in separate sidecar funding rounds related to Austin-based startups ZenBusiness and SubjectWell.
ZenBusiness is a public benefit corporation that assists entrepreneurs with business formation, back office operations, and regulatory compliance. Previously, Geekdom Fundâs sidecar invested $2.66 million in ZenBusiness. The most recent sidecar investment totaled $3.49 million from 41 investors.
SubjectWell provides a marketplace for patient recruitment for clinical trials. Following a $1.2 million investment in 2020, Geekdom Fundâs sidecar invested an additional $4.56 million for SubjectWell.
Founded in 2014, Geekdom Fund is a venture capital fund that invests in early stage IT startups in San Antonio, South Texas, and beyond. In addition to ZenBusiness and SubjectWell, Geekdom Fund has coordinated sidecar equity funding round investments in a number of startups, including Trexo, Kronologic, MP Cloud Technologies, One Model, and Tenfold, each of which are portfolio investments by Geekdom Fund.
