Jackson Walker, in collaboration with Gifak Asesores, S.C. (“Gifak”), a law firm based in Monterrey, Mexico, advised Grupo Verzatec, S.A. de C.V. (“Verzatec”) in the acquisition, through two of its subsidiaries, of Plastiglas de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. The transaction was led by Gifak serving as Mexican counsel with Jackson Walker as U.S. counsel.
Based in Monterrey, Mexico, Verzatec is a world leader in the manufacture and sale of fiberglass-reinforced plastic laminates, polycarbonate sheets, and interior and exterior panels for the building and transportation industries. Through this acquisition, Verzatec further strengthens its strategic position, supported by Plastiglas de Mexico’s market presence in the North America region.
The Jackson Walker team was led by partner Carlos R. Treviño and associate Michael Flatter and included partners Jimmy McDonough and Noah Speck.
The Gifak team was led by managing partner Jose Enrique Gonzalez, and included associates Enrique Gonzalez-Ortiz, Nelda Plancarte, and Laura Martinez.
