As King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands pay a working visit to the United States this September, Manny Schoenhuber will proudly represent Jackson Walker as an attendee of the official delegation trip.
During their working visit, Their Majesties will travel to California and Texas to exchange ideas about expanding economic cooperation and addressing social challenges. From September 6-7, the royal couple will visit the San Francisco Bay Area to discuss climate, the economy, technology, mobility, and healthcare.
With the Netherlands as Texas’ leading EU trading partner, the royal couple on September 8 will stop in Austin, Texas, where they will be received by Governor Greg Abbott. They will also meet with Mayor Steve Adler to discuss the city’s plan to create safe cycling infrastructure with the help of Dutch expertise. Their Majesties will also pay a visit to the Capital Factory innovation center, Fort Hood, and the Hogg Foundation at Kerr Community Center. The royal couple will close the Austin trip with a tour of the Austin FC Q2 Stadium and a dinner reception, during which King Willem-Alexander will speak about collaboration between the Dutch and Texan business communities.
The delegation trip will be bookended by a visit to Houston, Texas, on September 9. During the visit, Their Majesties will learn about the destruction of Hurricane Harvey and engage in a roundtable discussion about solutions for protect against flooding. King Willem-Alexander will also participate in roundtable discussions about coastal defense and the use of port infrastructure to promote the energy transition through hydrogen and carbon capture and storage. Queen Máxima will visit the Texas Medical Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center. Their Majesties will complete the trip with a reception at the Museum of Fine Arts attended by representatives of US and Dutch companies in Texas.

Manny is an attorney in Jackson Walker’s Houston office, where he acts as outside general counsel to his European clients. He works closely with European companies and their subsidiaries in Texas, and European investors in the United States. As a native German, Manny enjoys representing fellow European clients and helping them to navigate market entry, contract negotiations and drafting, litigation, and dispute resolution.
Outside of his practice, Manny is an active member of the American Council on Germany (ACG), the European American Chamber of Commerce Texas (EACC Texas), the German-American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S. (GACC South), the German-American Lawyers’ Association (DAJV), and the Danish American Chamber of Commerce Southwest (DACCSW).
In addition to participating in the delegation trip, Manny is also a participant in the Globalaw Leadership Program, a one-year business development and leadership program for attorneys at Globalaw member firms. As a participant of the 2022 program, he joins fellow future Globalaw leaders in learning about the organization, gaining leadership experience, and engaging in collaborative exercises to discover best practices for representing clients in complex, multi-jurisdictional matters.
