Sang Shin to Present on Creating Pathway for STEM Workers Through Non-Legislative Means at UT Law CLE’s Immigration and Nationality Law Conference

September 24, 2024 | Speaking Engagements

Jackson Walker partner Sang M. Shin will participate as a panelist at The University of Texas School of Law’s 48th Annual Conference on Immigration and Nationality Law. Joining him on the panel will be Beatriz Trillos Ballerini (Trillos-Ballerini Law Firm, P.C.), with William A. Stock (Klasko Immigration Law Partners, LLP) serving as the moderator.

The panel will explore creative strategies for attorneys navigating the constraints of the annual H-1B cap, especially for college graduates in STEM fields. Topics will include practical solutions within the F-1 visa category, such as OPT extensions and “Day One” CPT, as well as alternative options like concurrent H-1B employment, to investment-based pathways, O-1 Extraordinary Ability, and filing for a National Interest Waiver or other non-PERM green cards.

The conference will feature in-depth discussions on critical immigration issues and offer tools, forms, and practical guidance on key decisions in the field. The event is scheduled to take place at the Austin Marriott South Hotel on October 24-25, 2024. For more information, view the course brochure.
