Jackson Walker partner Jackie C. Staple was selected to speak at HR Houston’s annual Gulf Coast Symposium on HR Issues on August 7. Jackie’s session, entitled “What’s Pregnancy Got to Do With It?,” will do a deep dive into the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (“PWFA”) and workplace accommodations. Jackie will examine changes since the PWFA took effect last year, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s recent PWFA regulations and guidance, and practical compliance pointers for employers.

Hosted by HR Houston, the Gulf Coast Symposium on HR Issues is the largest regional conference for HR professionals on the Gulf Coast, with over 1,300 attendees. The Symposium delivers education in business management and strategy, employee and labor relations, international HR, leadership and professional development, and talent management. Meet Jackie

Jackie C. Staple is a partner in the Labor & Employment section of Jackson Walker’s Houston office and is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She focuses on advising and counseling companies on employment law compliance and handling labor and employment transactional matters. Jackie has depth of experience drafting various employment, separation and release, and restrictive covenant agreements, as well as conducting due diligence of employment considerations in equity and asset transactions and helping employers implement multi-state policies. When litigation becomes reality, Jackie advocates for her clients in state and federal courts, as well as handles administrative agency matters.
