Biography
Cameron creates innovative solutions for his clients’ perplexing legal problems with a special focus on circumstances where one party wrongly absconds with assets and appears beyond reach. From unwinding convoluted corporate structures in the energy space to holding accountable masterminds behind eight-figure real estate fraud schemes to piercing corporate reorganization attempts aimed at avoiding tens of millions in environmental liability, Cameron thrives in finding a way to make those who owe pay up.
In just five years of practice Cameron has both led and served as co-counsel in:
- multiple adversary proceedings representing trustees and debtors,
- contested debtor hearings (motions to sell, motions to amend the confirmation order, contested evidentiary hearings, discovery disputes),
- contested procedural hearings in federal and state courts (motions to amend, motions to dismiss, motions for continuance, motion for alternative service),
- contested enforcement hearings in federal court (motions to compel, motions to show cause, motions to quash),
- state court collection actions (foreclosure, eviction, garnishment, UCC sale, seizure, default judgment),
- CERCLA prosecution and defense litigation, and
- private and court-ordered mediations.
Whether preparing a forensic computer or accounting expert for direct testimony or crossing an opposing witness in court, Cameron plies his passion for oral advocacy as a two-time national debate champion with his relentless persistence and ingenuity to repeatedly obtain favorable results for clients. He has issued and enforced over 50 subpoenas, taken more than 30 depositions, and developed winning legal strategies where there appeared to be none.
While in law school, Cameron worked as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge Jennifer Walker Elrod of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Honorable Judge Marvin Isgur of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Before practicing law, Cameron served students in Houston’s Second and Third Wards as a high school teacher and debate coach with Teach for America and the Houston Independent School District. Cameron led his students to both regional and Texas UIL Debate Championships and assisted 17 of them in obtaining full cost of attendance scholarships to four-year universities.
