Biography
For nearly two decades, Colin Murchison has advised individuals and families on the generational preservation and protection of wealth. Colin prides himself on establishing long-term relationships with families and often helps multiple generations of families to accomplish each family memberâs overall estate planning needs.
Colinâs experience in estate planning ranges from clients with simple, small estates to complex multi-million dollar estates. Such planning includes the preparation of simple wills, ancillary documents, trusts (such as revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, insurance trusts, intentionally defective grantor trusts, and spousal lifetime access trusts) and pre- and post-marital agreements. Colin also assists clients with creating closely-held businesses and the administrative aspects of such entities.
Equally as important as helping families during their lifetime, Colin assists families after the passing of loved ones. Colin has extensive experience in representing personal representatives during the probate process and being counsel for beneficiaries during probate. Additionally, Colin has experience representing both individual and corporate trustees.
Colinâs experience also covers contested probate matters, trust disputes, and guardianships.
In addition to being Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, he is certified by the State Bar of Texas as an Attorney Ad Litem and Guardian Ad Litem.
Colin serves as the chair of the firmâs Trust & Estates group in Fort Worth.
