Biography
Tyson Ehlinger is a trusts and estates attorney in the Austin office. Tyson advises clients on wealth preservation strategies and estate plans specifically tailored to accomplish each client’s unique goals, which often include:
- Minimizing gift tax, estate tax, generation-skipping transfer tax and income tax exposure;
- Liability and creditor protection;
- Privacy;
- Marital property planning;
- Life insurance planning;
- Business structuring and succession planning;
- Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS) planning;
- Partnership tax compliance;
- Family office structuring;
- Optimizing charitable desires;
- Planning for incapacity and death; and
- Maintaining family harmony.
Tyson helps his clients accomplish such goals through the creation and structuring of wills, powers of attorney, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts (both grantor trusts and non-grantor trusts), partnerships, LLCs, and S Corps.
Tyson’s experience includes advising clients on complex partnership tax issues that result from having several owners of an operating business or several family members involved in a family investment partnership.
Tyson also assists individuals, families, and trustees with trust administration during life, probate and estate administration after a death has occurred, and the preparation of gift tax returns and estate tax returns.
